Spanish I Curriculum through TechPaths Educational Philosophy Paper Test Bias Powerpoint Project |
I feel that
as an educator it is my commitment to the learning of our future leaders of
tomorrow. To be given this privilege to teach children, I myself must
continually want to learn and use fresh ideas to keep my teaching motivated
and keep myself inspired to be the best teacher possible. I must be
professionally involved so that I will continue to grow and learn so that I
can reflect on things that I have done and change things that need to be
improved. It takes a true leader and teacher to be able to change the things
that don't work and accept criticism from others as a way to become an even
better teacher. I always listen to my colleagues around me and share my view
and opinions with them. There are also three new English teachers in our
English department for next year and I want to be a leader for them by
guiding them with curriculum maps that I have made and sharing the
curriculum that we have used in the past and reflecting on what we can do to
improve it for the next school year. I am excited to work with these new
teachers and help guide them with good examples not only on paper and in the
classroom but also through my professionalism as a leader and teacher of
English. Next year I have some clear cut goals to help me continue my
learning and two of them are to go to the English and World Language
conventions so that I am learning new ideas from other teachers and I also
want to share some of my ideas with them. I have never been to these two
conventions but I already have it in my budget to do this for the 07'-08'
school year. Also I want to present at the World Language Convention in
South Dakota collaboratively sharing some of my ideas about teaching Spanish and German
using technology with other teachers in the state.
Artifact 2 is a display of my philosophical beliefs on education. I feel that I have had tremendous growth through my profession as a teacher. I have many opinions and practices that have changed and adapted to ideas and concepts that I have learned through my education. My beliefs and core values have stayed rather strong in some areas and haven't changed very much, but I have learned to have a better understanding of who I am as a teacher and what I need to do to become an even better one. I also realize that I am a growing individual that has learned how to become a better teacher through more patience, lessons learned and just remembering that I am here for my students to give them the best caring and dedicated education that I can give them. This paper sums up many of my views on education and how it has shaped and molded me into a better teacher. In studying bias in testing and standardized testing, I learned much more than just understanding bias and how it can affect testing. Artifact 3 displays how my group members and I collaboratively created a powerpoint on this so we could use our knowledge on bias in testing and present it in a technological way to our peers. Also my group members and myself also are going to share our bias in testing powerpoint with other educators in our own districts as well as the ones that we presented it to in our class. Educational assessment is an area that we continue to work on here at Chester Area School. This powerpoint is a great tool to help guide teachers into a better understanding of bias and how relevant it is or isn't in standardized testing. This powerpoint will take a minute to open. |
