Objectives:
1.
To summarize and discuss orally and in writing selected
works of
literature.
2.
To develop better reading skills.
3. To develop and strengthen all of the steps in the writing
process, and be
able to write expository, descriptive,
persuasive, and narrative texts.
4.
To develop better listening and viewing skills in a small and
large group
setting.
5.
To develop better speaking skills by using expressive
language to connect
ideas to achieve a particular purpose.
6.
To develop grammar and spelling skills that will help with
reading,
writing and speaking skills.
Classroom Expectations & Rules:
1. Be seated in your desk and
ready to go when the bell rings.
2. Always be prepared by having
the necessary items with you for class: notebook,
journal, textbooks, pens, pencils,
etc....
3. Always respect each other's
views and opinions.
4. Be courteous in waiting your
turn.
5. Please always raise your
hand.
6. No gum or candy in class,
except when allowed.
7. No pop in class, except on
Fridays when all assignments have been turned in completed
and on time.
8. One student at a time can
leave the classroom with the hall pass.
9. No cell phones in my
classroom!
10. No playing games on tablets!
11. No i-pods in my classroom!
